The Torrance Unified School District has a comprehensive plan for the care of students during emergency situations. Disaster preparedness is one of the top priorities in the District. At the beginning of each year, parents are required to supply a personal Emergency Kit (in a gallon Ziploc type bag) for each child. Please label the bag with your child's name, teacher and room number.

PROVIDE YOUR OWN:

If you would like to assemble your own emergency kit, suggested items are:

• Non-Perishable Food/Water (snacks, bottled water)

• Sweater or Jacket, Change of Clothes (optional)

• Masks

• Tissue, Wet wipes

• Notepad/Pencil

• Family Photograph

• Comfort Letter (Personal note with contact info)

Friday, September 1 in front of the school at dismissal

1 – 400 Calorie Food Bar (5-year shelf life)

2 – Water Pouches 4.227 oz. each (5-year shelf life, U.S. Coast Guard Approved)

1 – 12-hour Light Stick

1 – Hand-Crank Flashlight
