REFLECTIONS

2024 - Reflections flyer - half.png

How to enter:

Hickory PTA is proud to sponsor Reflections, a nationwide PTA arts contest that allows students to express themselves while applying the theme to their art. This year’s theme is Accepting Imperfection.

  • To enter, students must choose a category, create a new artwork that applies this year’s theme, and write a brief artist statement to explain their piece. Students may enter in more than one category. Please read the full rules and entry requirements HERE.

  • Entry is free for all students. Hickory’s contest is only for TK-5th grade students who attend Hickory.

  • Winners will get a trophy and a chance to compete at the TUSD district level of competition.

  • Every participant will get recognition and be included in a Virtual Art Gallery at the end of the year.

  • Parents can assist with the online submission process, but be sure to follow all the rules and requirements for each category.

  • All entries must NOT have names or any identifying information on the artwork. This means NO names written on a visual art, photography, or literature piece. And NO names or credits can be spoken or written on any film, music, or dance submission. Don't worry, we will be able to tell it belongs to your student when you submit it.

  • Contact Sunny at hickoryptareflections@gmail.com for questions or help with the entry process.

DEADLINE TO ENTER IS OCTOBER 13, 2024.

What is Reflections?

Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning.

Every year, students are presented with a new theme. Submissions can be in the form of art work, writing, poetry, any form of artistic expression. Participation is optional, however we encourage all students to participate!

Visit the National PTA Reflections page to see past winners!
